Welcome to Strictly Macro

A newsletter about my thoughts and research on the ever-changing global macroeconomic landscape.

Finding signal amongst the noise, and simplifying the complex is one of the challenges we face as investors every day. Understanding the dynamics of the ever changing macroeconomic landscape and their potential impact on global markets has and always will be an essential part of any investors decision making process.

Hopefully this newsletter will provide some insight into some of those dynamics.

I am not a financial advisor and will not be giving financial advice. If you are looking for a newsletter that can provide you with specific trades then you should look elsewhere. If you are looking for certainties in an uncertain world then you are in the wrong place.

If however you are looking for no-nonsense research and analysis on global macro, investing, and other market-related topics, in this newsletter you may find something of interest to you.

Strictly Macro will be delivered in the following format:

EVERY SUNDAYWEEKLY MACRO NOTE where I review the main market dynamics of the week and look at potentially important things to consider for the week ahead. I will also share with you some useful tools which I find helpful as a trader and investor.

EVERY OTHER TUESDAYTHE REVIEW is an article series in which I examine either a paper or book I found particularly relevant to me as an investor, and highlight some of the key points and takeaways.

EVERY THURSDAYMACRO DEEP DIVE which will be composed of two parts: 1 - DATA DIVE looks at all the major economic data we have received and an analysis of this.2 - DEEP DIVE into a specific topic, security, or data series I deem particularly important or interesting.

The articles will be accompanied by relevant charts, graphs, and tables. Moreover, you will hopefully be entertained by some of the cartoons and images I have teamed up with Monkey Design Studio to create; for often “a picture speaks a thousand words”.

Starting in the New Year (or if possible sooner) the articles will be accompanied by an audio file so you can listen to them on the go or while walking your dog.

This newsletter will be free during during the initial stages of publication, eventually it will become a subscription only service for a very modest and accessible fee of £12 per month.

I am approaching this project in the spirit of it being a Work In Progress, in the sense that over time I hope to improve both my understanding of the various topics and consequently the quality of the content that I share.

I am neither an economist, an institutional investor or an expert of any kind. I started investing 6 years ago knowing nothing, over time I think I have figured out a few things, but the beauty of this world is that learning is a never-ending process, and particularly in this profession one could go on forever.

Hopefully I can share with you some valuable insights from a craft which I am fine tuning every day.

It would be my pleasure if you wish to join me in this journey.
